Hey there, cutie! Welcome to La Vita Vivi.

As many of you especially in the US know, 2020 has been an incredibly eye-opening year in terms of the Black Lives Matter Movement. As an individual who has chosen to offer my recommendations online, I feel a sense of responsibility for the type of brands that I choose to share on my platforms. (Note: For more resources, check out my "❤️🙏🏻" highlight on Instagram.)

There are so many ways we can support our friends in the black community - financial support being one of the most sustainable ways. Because everyone has different financial situations, I don't want to pressure anyone to give monetarily if you can't afford it. I'd still suggest however that there are probably "essentials" or everyday items you purchase that could easily be swapped for an incredible product from a black-owned business - large or small.

In light of this, I'm so excited to highlight one of my favorite bottled tea brands: Kabaki Tea. I've worked with the lovely Kabaki Tea Team for a little bit now, and wanted to bring attention to their work as a black-owned business that also gives back to the community. According to their website, in 2012 "the Kabaki family started KABAKI Kenyan Purple Tea. As the tea delivers antioxidant benefits globally, funds are brought back to the Kijiji Clinic [in Kenya] so it can help more patients with expanded services like X-ray radiology,  blood analysis, kidney dialysis, ultrasound, and mammography. A sustainable organic farm is also on the horizon to feed clinic patients while supporting the larger community with sales and job opportunities."

In addition to the amazing work that Kabaki Tea does, the actual tea has incredible health benefits due to the "intense African sun coupled with cool mountain air [which] allows ultraviolet rays to deeply penetrate the tea leaves". Basically, you're getting more antioxidants, polyphenols and anthocyanins than ANY OTHER type of tea to fight against cancer, brain and heart diseases.

To top it all off - they TASTE DELICIOUS, too! Their entire line includes: unsweetened, lightly sweetened, lemon, raspberry and peach. My favorite flavors are the lightly sweetened and the peach.
