Revisiting Osaka and Kyoto felt like reconnecting with old friends. I first explored these incredible cities when I graduated college and had the chance to discover Fukuoka last year (click here<\/span><\/a> to see more from that trip). Returning to Osaka and Kyoto allowed me to revisit my favorite spots while discovering even more. Japan\u2019s rich food culture and the kindness of its people continue to make it one of my favorite travel destinations. If you\u2019re looking for the best places to visit in Japan, these cities should definitely be on your list!<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always loved Japanese food, and Osaka took that passion to a whole new level. The warmth and kindness of the people here made every meal feel like a celebration. From the crispy, flavorful tempura at Uoshin Honten to the sweet, decadent treats at Candy Apple, I was constantly amazed by how every dish had its own unique twist. What really made Osaka special, though, was the way the food connected me to the city\u2019s vibrant culture. It wasn\u2019t just about eating; it was about experiencing a place through its flavors. This leg of the trip was a highlight, right behind the time I spent with my family in Korea. The food, the people, the energy\u2014Osaka is a place that stays with you long after you\u2019ve left.<\/p>\n

Grilled Fish Restaurant<\/span> (Osaka, Japan): A must-try for seafood lovers, this restaurant serves up a spectacular salmon meal with raw egg, tuna, and pickles. A culinary experience that\u2019s literally a 10\/10<\/p>\n

7-Eleven<\/span> (Osaka, Japan): You may not expect much from a convenience store, but the Japanese 7-Eleven surprises with peach gummies, matcha ice cream, and croissant cookies. Don\u2019t miss these snacks!<\/p>\n

Yoshinoya<\/span> (Osaka, Japan): For a quick and hearty meal, Yoshinoya\u2019s beef bowl with extra green onions, chili oil, and raw egg is a 10\/10 experience.<\/p>\n

Strawberry Mania<\/span> (1 Chome-3-17 Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0071, Japan): Strawberry daifuku mochi here is a real treat! The chocolate flavor is a 10\/10, while the matcha is a 9\/10, and whipped cream gets an 8\/10.<\/p>\n

Kobe Beef Sushi<\/span> (Dotonbori, Osaka, Japan): Kobe beef sushi is a must-try while in Osaka. Rated a solid 7\/10.<\/p>\n

Candy Apple<\/span> (1 Chome-6-18 Dotonbori, Chuo Ward, Osaka, 542-0071, Japan): Indulge in a matcha apple or chocolate strawberry treat that\u2019s a 10\/10 experience.<\/p>\n

Uoshin Honten<\/span> (5-4 Doyamacho, Kita-ku, Osaka, 530-0027, Japan): A seafood lover\u2019s dream, Uoshin Honten serves ikura, salmon, tuna, and even tempura with pickles, and a crab cream croquette that\u2019s a 10\/10!<\/p>\n

Ippudo Ramen<\/span> (1F Tsunoda Building, 6-7 Kakudacho North Osaka City, Osaka \u3012530-0017, Japan): If you love ramen, try the tonkotsu ramen here. It\u2019s a comforting 9\/10 dish.<\/p>\n

Bonta Bonta<\/span> (1 Chome-1-3 Umeda, Kita Ward, Osaka, 530-0001, Japan): Delicious ikura onigiri (salmon roe rice balls) make this spot a top choice for lunch.<\/p>\n

Kyoto holds a special place in my heart, and it\u2019s easy to see why. From the creamy matcha ice cream to the traditional udon and tempura at Otawa Saryo, the flavors here are unforgettable. The peaceful atmosphere combined with delicious food made the experience feel almost magical. What really stood out was the kindness of the locals and the beauty of the temples that made Kyoto feel so unique. It\u2019s definitely a highlight of the trip, right up there with the time spent with my family in Korea.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
