SAMI’S BACHELORETTE WEEKEND IN NAPA VALLEY, CALIFORNIA

Napa Valley is the sophisticated and elegant wine region of northern California, renowned for its world-class wines and local cuisine. I visited there recently for one of my best friend's bachelorette weekends and wanted to recap the trip with you all here as well. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway in Napa for two or a weekend for a group of girlfriends - I hope you find this blog post helpful!

DAY 1 - TRAVEL TO NAPA & DINNER

First, getting to Napa was fairly easy. I booked my flight through the Southwest Airlines app on my phone and checked in via the app the night before. Since it was a domestic flight, I arrived to the LAX airport 2 hours before my flight boarded to give myself more than enough time to pass through TSA. I was wearing one of my favorite travel outfits, so I was comfortable waiting for my friend to arrive to our gate. We got a quick snack and then boarded our flight to Napa.

Our flight was delayed for a couple hours, so we met with two of our other friends at the Oakland International Airport and Ubered to our AirBnB. Our home for the weekend was in a residential area and set by the most gorgeous hillside and small creek. We spent the next couple hours eating lunch from a local Mediterranean restaurant and decorating the house with bachelorette-themed streamers, balloons and signs. Once the bride arrived, all 8 of us girls started getting ready together and the party was on!

Since the majority of the weekend would be spent at posh wineries, we started off the weekend at Wilfred's Lounge in Downtown Napa for a "Last Rodeo" themed night. All the girls were called to wear pink tops while the bride wore white, so I wore a pink poplin shirt, my favorite denim jeans and my new cowboy boots. Wilfred's is a bar with tiki-themed food and drinks, so it's a fun option for any bachelorette parties or people who want to be a little more casual. I had the poke bowl and a couple drinks - all which were delicious. After our drinks, we made our way back to the house for a pajama night where we played games until it was time for bed. I get so many compliments on my satin sleepwear set and everyone is always so surprised that it's from Amazon Fashion.

PS: I'm so sorry I don't have more pictures from this night - we were having fun and I wasn't in the "right state of mind" to take a lot of snaps if you get what I mean. 😉

DAY 2 - WINE TASTINGS

The next day was our main full day and filled with wine tastings. I wore one of my favorite sweater dresses for a neutral base; accessorized with a green satin scarf for an elegant splash of color; and wore over-the-knee boots for warm, style and comfort. I also started working with Dareth Colburn Designs to showcase their bridal jewelry for everyday style, so I styled the Skylar Bridesmaid Set with this look and it topped it off perfectly. We started our wine tastings with a wine-pairing lunch at Sequoia Grove Winery. Set in the St. Helena region of Napa Valley, Sequoia Grove felt warm, woodsy, and like the name suggests - is surrounded by gorgeous sequoia trees. They offer a wine pairing lunch that's great if you want a guided experience. The menu highlights the property's Cabernet Sauvignons with a variety of dishes: mushroom soup, kohlrabi 4 ways, rabbit taco, octopus, short ribs and brownie. My favorite part was when they had us try white chocolate, sea salt, lemon and cheese with the same wine to see how it tasted differently. It felt like a mini wine class where I got to learn while enjoying some delicious food and wine.

Next winery on the itinerary was Cuvaison. Cuvaison is an elegantly modern winery in Los Carneros. It's the coolest region in Napa Valley, making it the ideal place to grow varieties like Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A couple of the girls - including the bride! - liked the 2021 Pinot Noir, Dutton Ranch so much that they ordered a bottle to take home. PS: The show Yellowstone has no affiliation with the wine, but it still made us love it. Anyone else Yellowstone fans??

Our last official winery of the day was Domaine Carneros, right across the street from Cuvaison which made it perfect for winery-hopping. Founded by one of the oldest families that produce champagne, Domaine Carneros is best known for their sparkling wines and Pinot Noir. The bubbles are incredibly fine tasting, smooth and sophisticated. The smoked salmon was also some of the best I've ever had in my life. Not to mention that Domaine Carneros is one of Napa Valley's most gorgeous proprieties and is my personal favorite wintery in Napa that I've visited. The French chateau architecture is elegant and timeless, modeled after the owner's home in Champagne, France.

We made our way back home to freshen up for our dinner reservation at Celadon, a beautiful restaurant in Downtown Napa. Since the ladies were called to wear all black this night, I wore my go-to going out dress and crystal embellished heels. I had the pork belly lettuce wraps, caesar salad, and Pinor Noir. The food scene in Napa is incredible and everything I ate was amazing. After dinner and more red wine, we went back home to spend the last bit of the trip together until our flights home the next day.

DAY 3 - TRAVEL BACK HOME

The next morning we cleaned up the house, packed up our belongings, and made our way to the airport for our respective flights. Since our accommodation was about an hour away from the airport, it took about 20 minutes for a Lyft (Uber took too long this time) to be called and arrive for our pick up. Although I was feeling a bit delicate this morning, I felt comfy-chic in my favorite cashmere sweater and wide leg pant combo on the way to the airport. Once I landed back in Los Angeles, I knew part of my recovery plan was to pick up an In n' Out burger on the way home and it definitely hit the spot after a weekend of wine.

I wrote an emotional caption on one of my Instagram stories (saved to my Napa highlight) about how crazy it is that a group of us on the trip have been talking about this season of life that we are currently living in for so many years. It feels surreal to still be experiencing big life moments with these girls who have been there for me during some of life's highest high's and lowest low's. The quality time spent with them over this weekend is one I won't forget, and I can't wait to make more memories together as we watch our girl get married in a couple months (click here to check out another bachelorette trip from Cabo, Mexico).

And that's our entire Napa weekend! I hope this was helpful with the winery recommendations and outfit tips.
