I turned 28 this year and decided to combine my birthday with my bachelorette party since everything was so close together. You guys might have guessed where I wanted to go if you've been following along my vlogs on my Youtube channel, but I decided to spend a weekend at Terranea Resort in Rancho Palos Verdes with my closest girlfriends to celebrate. Terranea is a local property in the Southern California area, but feels like you're in another part of the world. They have so many amenities and the grounds are gorgeous, making it the perfect weekend filled with pool time, yummy food and drinks, girly talks and of course, lots of pampering.
We started off the weekend by checking in to our 2-bedroom bungalow which was right by the Spa. It had a spacious primary bedroom with a king sized bed, bathroom with a tub, kitchenette with full sized amenities, living room area with a fire place, additional room with two extra beds, and our own patio with a fire pit that was lit up at sunset for s'mores.
We headed off to lunch at catalina kitchen, where I had a delicious cobb salad with seafood on top. We went back to the bungalow after lunch to change into our swimsuits, and I gave the girls their "thank you gift" (beach tote bags with a personalized letter, visor, champagne and water bottle inside). We hung out the majority of the day enjoying aperol spritz's at adult-only pool, cielo point, which overlooks the gorgeous Palos Verdes cliffs. Once the sun started to set, we made our way back to the bungalow and got ready together for dinner at mar'sel, Terranea's fine dining restaurant. They were so kind and brought out two desserts for us - one for my birthday and one for my bachelorette weekend, and treated us to a bottle of Veuve Clicquot champagne. We headed back to the bungalow and basically had a girly sleepover for the rest of the night.
The next morning, we packed our bags and headed to our treatments at the award-winning Spa at Terranea. We each chose personalized skin treatments, and I got the Vitamin C facial to prep for our elopement in a few days. It was a heavenly experience, one that I highly recommend if you can make a visit. Since we were Spa guests for the day, we were given a day pass to use the cold plunge, dry sauna, steam room, and other amenities the entire rest of the day. We had a Bavarian pretzel and lobster rolls for lunch afterwards at Nelson's, and then spent the rest of the afternoon by the pools before heading home. I'm so grateful to my girls for taking the time out to spend my birthday-bachelorette weekend with me, and I'm feeling very thankful overall to have gotten to celebrate another year around the sun.
