HOW TO GET GLOWY SKIN

Hey there, gorgeous!

It’s summer time and it’s all about that glowy complexion. As someone who has had oily/combination skin her whole life, I was hesitant at first to try highlighters and other products that claimed to make you look “dewy”. So to all my sista’s out there, any skin type, let’s embrace the glow and shine to the gods! I’ll show you my favorite tips to achieve that glow, so stick around to see what I’m talking about 😉

NYX’s Angel Veil Primer is an amazing primer that will give your skin a light glow from the start. (Click here to check out another post featuring this primer!) If you don’t like wearing heavy foundations or don’t want to wear any that day, slap on a little primer to give your skin a slightly blurred effect. Primers even out complexions and this one will highlight the high points of your face like your cheekbones and tip of your nose.

For an insanely beautiful finish, you have got to try the Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation SerumRevlon Colorstay Foundation! (Click here to check out my post on my Favorite Foundations!) It is one of my holy grails of 2018, and I wear it nearly every day because I love how my skin looks. Since it’s a serum, it’s going to be thinner than a standard foundation would be. I like to mix it with other foundations if I need more coverage. But for every day, I typically just use the Serum and then concealer for any blemishes.

I’ll admit-I did not jump on the highlighter trend when it first blew up. I was already taking measures to make my skin appear more matte, so I thought I wasn’t going to be into looking dewy at all. However, the first time I swiped a bit of highlighter on my cheek, I was so surprised at how much I liked it! It gives your skin that ultimate youthfulness and really makes you look so healthy. Apply a bit to the high points of your cheeks, brow bone, tip of your nose and cupid’s bow. My favorites are the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop, and the Lorac Light Source Illuminating Highlighter.

Everyone is obsessed with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, but the MAC Prep & Prime Fix + spray is where it’s at for glowy skin! I like to apply the Urban Decay spray first to completely set my makeup, and then I’ll apply the MAC Fix + spray towards the high points of my cheeks. I avoid the t-zone because I already get pretty oily there, so the Fix + is an added extra that intensifies the highlighter.
