Shrimp and grits is one of the most classic soul food dishes, known for its rich textures and spicy flavors. I attended a cooking class recently where we learned how to make shrimp and "grits" - replacing the traditional grits with pre-made polenta as a substitute. Grits and polenta are very similar. Grits is a porridge made from boiled white cornmeal or hominy, while polenta is made from yellow corn. The shrimp is seasoned with Old Bay and Cajun seasonings, vegetables, and a zesty Andouille sausage. It's such a warm and comforting meal that is sure to satisfy you from the first bite to the last!
