MY FAVORITE HAIR STYLING PRODUCTS & TOOLS

Hey there, cutie! Welcome to La Vita Vivi.

I've been getting a couple hair questions on Instagram lately, so I wanted to share my favorite hair styling products and tools that I use on the daily! I typically go for either beachy waves, curls or straightened hair and that seems to get the job done for most days. FYI-My hairdresser told me to try the Kenra shampoo, Purology conditioner, Living Proof dry shampoo and Babybliss curling iron, so just know that those come with a professional's recommendation as well. 😉

Ready? Let's get into it!

Kenra Color Maintenance Shampoo

The Kenra shampoo is my new fave shampoo ever! Pro Tip-Do NOT use Head & Shoulders if you have color-treated hair! The chemicals they use to get rid of dandruff strips your hair of all the color/hard work your hairdresser puts into it (not to mention all the hard-earned money you put in, too), so avoid brands like that and try this one out. I used to use the Purology shampoo, but she recommended this one because it's SO MUCH CHEAPER (only $16!!!) and does the same job.

Purology Hydrate Conditioner

Although I switched out from Pureology for my shampoo, I cannot say goodbye to the Hydrate Conditioner. This Pureology conditioner is seriously SO good for dry/color-treated hair.

Wide-Toothed Shower Comb

This comb is great for detangling your hair in a non-damaging way straight out of the shower.

Alterna Caviar

The Alterna Caviar is a leave-in conditioning treatment that you apply after your shower. You know I love a good hair conditioner (click here to check out one of my other favorite leave-in conditioners), so when I tried this one out one night and woke up the next morning sans-lion's mane-hair (comment below if your hair gets naturally poofy life mine LOL) you KNOW I was sold.

Tresemme Heat Protectant

This Tresemme Heat Protectant is a tried and true product since my high school days. Use this before styling, even before drying your hair!

Pro Beauty Tools Hair Dryer

This Pro Beauty Tools Hair Dryer is one I've had for years and nothing super special to be honest (I really want to try the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer one day), but it gets the job done and is an affordable option, so she gets to stay. 😉

Conair Round Brush

This Conair Round Brush is perfect for achieving that at-home blowout.

Large Hair Clips

If you have long hair, large hair clips are a must. I have two-one in the shower (I let my conditioner sit in my hair while I shave my legs (lol) but keep my hair up in a clip so the runoff conditioner isn't dripping all over my body) and one with my hair styling tools to hold larger pieces of hair up.

Metal Styling Clips

Metal styling clips are a lifesaver if you have a lot/thick hair like I do and need to section parts off so the end product is nice and neat.

Invisibobble Hair Ties

Invisibobble Hair Ties are great because they give a strong grip while staying comfortable.

Regular Hair Ties

I already know you lost most (if not all) of your regular hair ties all over the place, so here ya go. 😉

Remington Pro Ceramic Straightener

This Remington Straightener is a favorite since my college days! I love how wide the ceramic plates are so you can straighten larger chunks of hair and get going out the door sooner!

Babybliss 1.25 inch Curling Iron

This Babybliss Curling Iron is one of my favorite recommendations from my hairdresser. It's a classic curling iron that will last your forever and is so easy to use.

Hot Tools 1.25 inch Curling Iron (Long)

I especially rely on this Hot Tools 1.25 inch Curling Iron lately because my hair is so long, but this barrel is longer than traditional curling irons so it accommodates to the length.

Living Proof Finishing Spray

This Living Proof Finishing Spray is a godsend! I've tried so many other brands and most of them do not do the job and leave an unwelcome residue that is sometimes visible on my dark hair. It's a bit more expensive but SO WORTH IT if you don't wash your hair every single day like I do.

Bobby Pins

Bobby pins are my favorite when I have to really secure a hair style in, like buns or half-up-half-down looks. I use some in both black and brown depending on how my hair coloring is, too.

Mini Teeth Clips

These mini clips are cute to use in your final style as a way to frame your face (clip away the front framing pieces of your hair to give yourself a pseudo half-up-half-down look).

L'anza Keratin Healing Oil

And last but certainly not least, this L'anza Oil is the perfect finishing product once you're done styling. Pro Tip-Don't use too much on Day 1-3 after showering to prevent your hair getting too oily so your style can last more days!
