Hey there, and welcome to La Vita Vivi!
If you’re anything like me, you’re low-key obsessed with skincare. You want to take care of your skin in the least amount of steps, but also want to see results. This may also mean you don’t want to use as many chemicals to reduce the toll your skin takes from product overload. I’ve distilled my skincare routine to its most essential and effective steps for you all, so if you wanted to try some products or learn about some new ones, you’ve come to the right place.
Ready? Let’s go!
STEP 1 \\ MAKEUP REMOVAL
FACE HALO (NIGHT)-This is a game changer, ya’ll! The Face Halo is made of microfibers that are 100 times more fine than human hair, making makeup removal incredibly gentle and effective. All you need to do is add water (I like using warm water to melt the makeup faster) and rub your makeup off. My favorite thing about the Face Halo is that eliminates the need for all those chemicals that we see in popular makeup wipes, and they can be reused up to 200 times! It’s truly amazing and actually works, so I hope you try it out. I purchased my pack (comes with 3) and I don’t think I’ll use makeup wipes ever again!
SIMPLE: MICELLAR WATER (NIGHT)-After shooting content for LVV with a full face of makeup on, I like to take the extra step to cleanse my skin using Simple’s Micellar Cleansing Water. I add some micellar water to a cotton pad and it just does the best job to take off any bits of makeup I might have missed with the Face Halo. I love how its minimal ingredients ensure that my skin will be cleansed without additives.
STEP 2 \\ CLEANSE
GARNIER SKINACTIVE (DAY/NIGHT): SULFATE-FREE CLEANSER-Since I have acne-prone, hormonal skin, I need to use products that are gentle and won’t irritate it. This Garnier cleanser is amazing because it cleanses the skin thoroughly, and doesn’t leave it stripped of its natural moisture.
STEP 3 \\ TONE
BURT’S BEES: GARDEN TOMATO TONER (NIGHT) (edited: product currently discontinued)- I don’t use this toner every day, especially now since it’s wintertime and my skin (although it’s combination-oily) tends to get dry and flaky if I use too many drying products. However, if I need to use a toner or if I want to target specific blemish areas, I’ll dot some of the Burt’s Bees Tomato Toner and it does the trick. I like that it’s more natural than other toners, which means less unknown elements on the skin.
STEP 4 \\ MOISTURIZE
NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST: HYDRATING SERUM (DAY) + WATER GEL (DAY)- The key to great makeup application is having well-moisturized skin! This is why I like using the serum and water-gel together, especially during the drier winter months. Make sure to use a little bit of each since you’re using two products, or you’ll risk clogging your pores.
NEUTROGENA HYDRO BOOST: GEL-CREAM (NIGHT)- This is my night moisturizer, and I love it because I can use such a small amount of it for my entire face. The extra-dry skin formula works for my combination-oily skin type, but that’s because I do have my dry patches during this time of year. Whatever your skin type may be, remember that skin is like any other organ and must be up-kept consistently to see the best results.
EXTRA \\ MOISTURE
LANEIGE: WATER SLEEPING MASK (NIGHT)-When I need an extra moisture bomb (usually on nights when I’ve gone out and had a few drinks), I always turn to my trusty Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. It’s a moisturizer that’s similar to the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Line. In fact, many people have named the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel as the dupe for the Laneige Water Sleeping Mask. Apply a thin layer just like your regular moisturizer, and you will wake up with the most plump and smooth skin ever. I really hope you try this product because I really do see a difference the next morning whenever I use this!
EXTRA \\ EYES
INNISFREE: GREEN TEA SEED EYE CREAM (NIGHT): Eye cream is a new addition to the skincare regimen, but I’m so glad I included it now. Have you ever had one eyelid that was either bigger than the other, or almost more “swollen” looking than the other eye?! Sometimes, I wake up with my eyes in two different shapes and it can make you go crazy sometimes. Applying eye cream to your eyes can give them the boost of moisture they need, which will plump up any saggy eyes. This GREEN TEA SEED EYE CREAM is great because green tea has rich amino acids that corrects skin tone and provides intense hydration.
