CIOPPINO (ITALIAN-AMERICAN INSPIRED SEAFOOD STEW)

CIOPPINO (ITALIAN-AMERICAN INSPIRED SEAFOOD STEW)

Christmas is upon us! If you need a last-minute recipe, then Cioppino has got you covered. Cioppino originated in San Francisco and the name comes from the fisherman "chipping in" any seafood they had on hand to this tomato-based stew.

Did you know Italians serve a "Feast of Seven Fishes" meal with an array of different seafood dishes to be enjoyed during Christmas? Since Cioppino is Italian-inspired, it would be a perfect dish to serve on Christmas Eve or Christmas as one of the seven fishes. I'm obviously not Italian, but I love this tradition and make Cioppino every year as a nod to it. Serve this with Roasted Broccoli with Feta and you have a delicious meal that your loved ones will swoon over.
