Since we're officially in September, it finally feels appropriate to share some fall recipes with you all. I can't lie that I'm turning in to one of those people who look forward to the holidays at an insanely early time frame. I'm talking as soon as it's the end of August, I'm already thinking about fall fashion and recipes. I think it's the changing of the seasons (or theoretical changing if you're also in Southern California), the excitement in the air from students going back to school, different foods coming in to season - all of these things are slowly but surely making fall a competitor for the top spot in my favorite seasons. Summer will always be my favorite, but I think I might be starting to love fall more...what about you?
Anyways, I digress. The real reason you're probably here is because you're interested in this blueberry bbq meatball slider recipe with apple coleslaw. I love using apples this time of year since - hello, apple picking season?! - and it's also an ingredient I always have on hand. They last so long in the fridge, so these are always the fruits I grab towards the end of the month since I only go grocery shopping once a month! I use ingredients like maple syrup and apple cider vinegar throughout this dish to keep with the fall theme, while also embracing warmer flavors in the bbq sauce.
