LIFE UPDATE: WE MOVED!

LIFE UPDATE: WE MOVED!

Big life update: we moved! But not just to a new neighborhood or a new apartment—we’ve stepped into something a little more layered, a little more communal, and honestly, a little more meaningful. We’ve moved in with my mother-in-law, and we’re now living in a multi-generational home.

This wasn’t a spontaneous decision. Like most big transitions, it came after a lot of thought, conversations, and dreaming up what the next chapter of our life might look like. Whether it’s saving for a home, building stronger family bonds, or creating a support system as we think about our future, this move made sense for where we’re at.

One of the most interesting things about multi-generational living is the constant balancing act. Some nights, it feels so cozy and nourishing to share a meal together and feel the warmth of family in the house. Other nights, we crave our little bubble—quiet dinners for two, winding down in peace, or just doing things our own way.

Navigating this dynamic has become its own dance. We’ve started to learn when to lean in, when to step back, and most importantly, how to communicate openly and kindly about what we need.

Here’s the beautiful part: despite all the differences, there’s something symbiotic happening. We’ve found rhythms that work for us. Our desire for independence is grounded by her presence and support.

I think sometimes we hold back from telling these parts of our story. It’s easier to show the pretty corners of a new home than it is to talk about the emotional terrain of living with in-laws. But I want to dive deeper into the layered, honest, ever-evolving life that I’m living.

So here’s to new beginnings, to building bridges across generations, and to redefining what “home” can look like. If you’re in a season of transition too—moving, merging families, or just finding your rhythm—know that you’re not alone.

We moved, yes. But more than that, we’re growing!
