I DON’T WANT SUMMER TO END!

I DON’T WANT SUMMER TO END!

Hey there, cutie! Hope you're having an awesome day!

Although I am looking forward to all the Fall prep, I have to confess that I don't want Summer to end. It's such a fun time with barbecues and other fun festivities that make it the total party season.

Earlier this season, I went on a quick vacay to Palm Springs and was totally inspired by this striped off the shoulder top from Socialite. It's super comfortable, and the material is a nice thickness. I love off the shoulder tops like this because it accentuates the chest area, or the décolletage. Top Tip: I always apply a bit of highlighter to the collar bones and shoulders whenever I wear tops like this. It's the perfect way to make that part of your body shine! The subtle glow is absolutely beautiful and it truly makes your skin look like it's radiant from within! (Click here to check out my blog post on how to get glowy skin!)

The white shorts are from American Eagle, and they are also very comfortable because they're from the super stretch line. The white shorts really allow the colors in the top to stand out and become the focal point of the whole look. I also love wearing white because it's a little more posh. For a more casual look, go for a light wash blue denim!

These Frye criss cross sandals have become my new besties, even over my Birkenstocks! I love slipping them on as an everyday shoe. Even though I have wide feet, it only took the first day to break them in. Now, I wear them so often because they literally go with everything. White has been my new favorite neutral color this year, and I can't wait to incorporate it into some Fall looks. I just love how fresh and clean the pop of white looks, and it's especially great for emulating those last-days-of-summer vibes! I chose to top the whole look off with this beach hat that I picked up from TJ Maxx, and a super lightweight woven purse from Pegasus Fashion Lounge in Woodland Hills, CA. Although I do love love love all these accessories, I did keep it neutral so that the striped top can shine. It's all about balance!

Summer is apparently the season of youth and upon learning this, it got me thinking.

Often times, I catch myself wanting to progress so far in life that I don't live life with a grateful heart for where I am currently. Maybe that's attributed to me being restless and in my early twenties, but I think a lot of people in general can get swept up in focusing so much on the future. We worry so much and in turn our views on the world and what life could be take a cynical turn. Being youthful doesn't even mean you have to be "young", because what is "young" anyways? It's not really an age, but a state of mind. To me, being youthful means being excited, curious and constantly growing. If we hold on to that value of staying alert and hopeful, I believe we can live happier and more fulfilling lives. Although Summer is coming to an end (we have until September 22nd!), let's try to live our lives with more hope, wonder and excitement even for the little victories we experience each day.

I'm so thankful you've stayed with me this far! I hope this post dropped a little inspiration for you to live your life with a youthful spirit.
