Hi, friends! Here's a little weekend update and brunch inspo if you need ideas in Southern California, specifically in the Beach Cities! This was one of my favorite weekends because it was filled with yummy food from a couple of my favorite places: Terranea Resort and The Rockefeller.
I actually used to work at Terranea, so it was so fun going back with one of my good friends (who also used to work there!) as guests and enjoy a meal there together. We went to bashi, Terranea's Asian fusion restaurant - and we went all out! We ordered the shaking beef with lime dipping sauce, hamachi sushi roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, and fried calamari. All of the food at Terranea is amazing, but bashi was one of our favorites to visit for our team birthdays when we both used to work there, so it's always one of our favorite choices. I have to say the shaking beef and spicy tuna on crispy rice are probably my favorites. I also ordered the lychee martini as my drink, which was so delicious, light and refreshing.
The next day, I went to brunch with Wes at The Rockefeller, which is a gastropub with locations in Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach. It was the perfect afternoon spent strolling around, window shopping, and then rewarding our walk with a hearty brunch - one of the best I've ever had! We ordered fried zucchini sticks with ranch to share and I ordered the pork belly benedict, while Wes got the smothered burrito. Everything was delicious and all the dishes I tried over the weekend actually inspired me to create my own dish at home with my favorite bits from the dishes - see the post here!
